The choice of wool

We have chosen wool from La Filature Fonty : one of the last natural wool spinning and dyeing factories still in operation in France; the team maintains valuable know-how, and the company has been awarded the “ Living Heritage Company ” label by the State.
The company is very attached to producing yarns in a reasoned way, and pays particular attention to the origin of traceability, and to the ecological and social impact of the fibers used.

Merino wool is in our opinion the best choice for your baby, for different reasons:

-It is soft, warm but can be used all year round, because it also insulates against heat. This wool is thermo-regulating: its fibers let the skin breathe, your child stays dry. Hypoallergenic, it is suitable for the sensitive skin of babies, and can be worn directly on the skin.

-It is machine washable at 30°C and easy to maintain daily with a brush and soapy water. It is water-repellent and prevents dirt from becoming deeply embedded.

-Naturally anti-bacterial.

-Flame retardant, merino wool is the safest material to wear directly against the skin, it is the least flammable of fibers.

-This material is natural, renewable, biodegradable. Its production requires very little water compared to cotton or synthetic clothing.
